Waste to Wonder Park
Waste
to Wonder Park is located at Rajiv Gandhi Smriti Van near the Nizamuddin in
Delhi. This Park is spread over a land of five acres. Delhi’s latest visitor
attraction is the Seven Wonders of the World. The park has been inaugurated by
Home Minister Rajnath Singh along with Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal. The theme
park has sculptures of the Seven Wonders of the World that all are built of
industrial and other kinds of waste. This park is made by the The South Delhi
Municipal Corporation. Wind and solar power are used to light up the Wonders of
the World Park.
Waste
to Wonder Park is made by SDMC with the help of artists, seven supporting
artists and 70 welders and helpers. These all the people were behind the construction
for completing this project.
Waste
to Wonder Park has models of the seven wonders such as Taj Mahal, Great Pyramid
of Giza, Eiffel Tower of Paris, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Christ the Redeemer
Statue of Rio De Janeiro, Rome’s Colosseum and the Statue of Liberty of the
United States of America.
Up cycled from automobile parts
SDMC
collected around 150 tons of scrap including 90 tons of industrial waste and
automobile waste parts. All the waste had been place together for construction Seven
Wonders of the World sculptures.
Good Lighting effect
The models
of these seven wonders are made of wastes that have been given good light for
more attractive. The old sodium lights have been fitted into their structures
for lighting. This lighting during evening and night hours, present it as a
captivating tourist spot.
Solar-Powered Park
SDMC is
using Green energy in this park for generate the electric or energy. For this
Wind and solar power are installed. Three solar trees at the park have been fit
and each with a capacity to produce up to six kilowatt of power. Solar panels
have been put on the roof of the washroom which built out of an old shipping
container.The whole park has been lit up only through Green energy.
Produce more power than it needs
According
to the SDMC official the power consumption would be less than the production in
this park. The extra power that would be 10-12 kilowatt provide for into the
grid.
Using Mist cooling Technique
The
solar trees use a mist cooling technique.
In this technique allow water to pass through the micron-sized misting
nozzles. Tiny water droplets evaporate by absorbing the heat in this
environment. It helps for cooling the surrounding and reducing pollution.
Knowledgeable Tour
The
replicas have boards providing information about the original. They also
provide the details of the scrap that has been used in making them. The height
of the replicas is not more than 30 feet except the Eiffel Tower. It is 70 feet
high. A selfie spot is also made where
tourist can take photographs of themselves with these structures.
Cost of the park
Total
Cost of the project is Rs 7.5 crore. There is an entry fee and the collection
used for the regular upkeep of the place. This park has food courts and a
playing area for children.
7 Wonders of the World at the Waste to Wonder Park in Delhi
1. The
Statue of Liberty (USA) has been made with old bicycle parts, metal sheets and
chains.
2. Christ
The Redeemer (Brazil) has been made with the help of old automobile engines, pipes
and electric poles
3. The
Eiffel Tower (Parish) has been made of 40 tons of vehicle parts with the height
of 70 feet.
4. The
Taj Mahal (India) has been made with the help of broken park benches, swings
and pipes.
5.
Colosseum (Ancient Rome) has been cleverly designed and made of broken electric
poles, metal railings and other waste items.
6. The
Leaning Tower of Pisa has been created of cycle rims, metallic sheets and old
iron pipes.
7. The
Pyramid of Giza (Egyptian) has been made with 10 to 12 tons of scrap angles.

The
Waste to Wonder Park had become famous sit for photography. Tourists can take
selfies in front of the world-renowned monuments.
The
Park is a wonderful site for family trips.

Tips for Waste to Wonder Park
1. There
are food stalls within the premises so enjoy the food in cool atmosphere.
2. It
is good to visit the park on weekdays. Weekends happen to be too crowded.
3. The
online ticket booking facility is not available. Tourist can purchase tickets
from ticket counters at the entry of the park.

Waste to Wonder Park is situated in Rajiv Gandhi Smriti Van.
It is near Sarai Kale Khan Bus terminal. The buses are available from all parts
of Delhi to reach here.
Many visitors prefer to drive so parking facility is also
available near the park for the convenience of visitors. The nearest metro
station is Hazrat Nizamuddin on the Pink line. It is set on walking distance
from the park which makes it convenient for people to reach there.

The
Waste to Wonder Park can be visited any time of the year. The best time is the
evening time to visit this park. In the Evening the weather remains cold and
the entire park lighted that make it attractive. November to February is the
