ISKCON TEMPLE
The International Society for Krishna
Consciousness (ISKCON), recognized as the Hare Krishna movement or Hare
Krishnas, contains of five hundred centers, temples, joined vegetarian
restaurants, hundreds local gathering organizations. ISKCON was founded in 1966
in New York by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Guru and spiritual
master of the organization.
ISKCON devotees chant God’s names in the
form of the mantra, or prayer for deliverance: Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna,
Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare/Hare Rama Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare.

Iskcon
ISKCON belongs to the Gaudiya-Vaishnava
sampradaya, is the Vedic or Hindu culture in India. Philosophically it is based
on the Sanskrit texts Bhagavad-Gita and the Bhagavat Purana, or Srimad
Bhagavatam. ISKCON spread the awareness
and growth of Vaishnavism worldwide since the late 1960s.
Activites of Iskcon
Kirtan
Kirtan, a form of religious chanting
spread five hundred years ago in India, is adept by ISKCON devotees and has now
spread around the world by efforts of the Vaishnava community.
In kirtan the singing or chanting of
mantras and other religious songs is sung by simple and traditional musical
instruments like the mrdanga drum,
kartals and harmonium. Kirtan is performed daily in Vaishnava temples. It may
also be performed at home or in public. ISKCON members are seen regularly in
the parks and streets of the world’s major cities performing kirtan.

Festivals are a basic part of ISKCON.
Janmastami
Janmastami is the birth of Lord Krishna who
is one of the most important occasions of the year in Hindus.Today, Janmastami
is celebrated throughout the globe at all ISKCON centers. All day performances
of song, drama, dance and chanting of the Lord krishna.
Diwali
Diwali therefore signifies the victory
of light over darkness and good over evil. The festival is frequently
celebrated with firework Diwali lamps and feasting.
For ISKCON members celebrate the Diwali
as it marks the return of Lord Rama, an incarnation of Krishna, to his country
of Ayodhya, after his defeat of the evil king Ravana. Rama was welcomed by all
of the citizens with pump and show.
Holi-
Festival of Colors
Holi is today main festivals of

Bhakti
Yoga
Yoga is more than just a physical
exercise.
According to the traditional yoga

bhakti-yoga (the direction of dedication and love) as the end result of other
yoga practices. Bhakti-yoga focuses on developing our willpower, carrier and
love for the Divinity, Lord Krishna.
Members of ISKCON practice bhakti-yoga

Meditation
