The royal white building Taj Mahal is well known as one of the Seven
Wonders of the World. This marble mausoleum is situated on the bank of River
Yamuna in Agra. Taj Mahal join up its name in the list of UNESCO World Heritage
sites in 1983 as it rich Mughal culture and huge architectural beauty. It is
famous in world as a symbol of love.
Mughal Emperor Shah
Jahan in order to house his favorite wife’s tomb built this wonderful
structure. Mumtaz Mahal who became the third and most favorite wife of
Shah Jahan. After death of queen, Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife
Mumtaz built this wonderful structure and tried to make his love remarkable.
Taj Mahal complex was completed in 1653. The total predictable
cost of the construction is around 32 million Indian rupees.The grand building
took around 22 years to get finished. The white marble used for the building
was brought from all over the country and central Asia.
Taj Mahal is s one of the extraordinary buildings in the world. The compound
of Taj Mahal contains of five major sections, which are the main gateway or
Darwaza, the gardens or Bageecha, the mosque or Masjid, the rest house or
Naqqar Khana and the last is the chief mausoleum or Rauza.

4. The rest house or Naqqar Khana

The chief mausoleum or Rauza.
The wonderful building covers an area of 42 acres. The construction of
mausoleum 22 years to complete involved 22,000 of labors. The vast gateway of
the monument has a exclusive door carved out of solid silver. The purpose of
building the door was to avoid people from watching the tomb from anywhere else
unless they are at the gateway itself.
The chief tomb of Taj Mahal stands on base of square platform.This
platform has been made high above the riverbank by 50 meters. There are four minarets
on each corner of the square platform. The garden of this monumentslay within
an area of 300 meters. The garden known as Char Bagh.
Specific piece of Makrana white marble
The specific piece of Makrana white marble that it changes it color with
the differences of light. At the time of sunrise the Taj Mahal looks pinkish,
it turns milky white in day light and in moonlight it goes golden.
Entry Fee
ü Rs.1100/- for Foreign Tourists
ü Rs.50/- for Indians
No entry fee for children below 15 years of
age whether Indian or foreigner
Taj Mahal is closed on every Friday
